Obituary
It is with deep sadness that the family of Jeremy Dixon announces his sudden death on November 21, 2024 at age 36.
Jeremy loved all things related to computers, networking, and blockchain technology – he was a true cryptocurrency enthusiast. He never chose the easy way and after a number of hardships and challenges some years ago, he worked himself through school and earned his degrees in computer networking and security. It was a proud day. Never taking the traditional route, he plunged into many ventures and startups over the years, which he always pursued with creativity and dogged determination. His sense of humor and wit often raised laughter among those who loved him. He could always tell a good story.
From the time he was a little guy, he had a heart of gold, which showed itself in many ways. As a youngin, he loved to build and make things –he was a master at Legos and frequenter at the kids’ art tent at MerleFest in western North Carolina. His Maw Maw Dixon took him to many music festivals when he was a kid, which surely contributed to his love of music and playing guitar.
He was a loyal friend to many and loved all animals, especially dogs. His lovely “Harley” (pictured below in her Santa hat) is being cared for by his mother.
Jeremy is survived by his mother, Kim Dixon and her partner Shawn Aldridge; his uncle Darrell Dixon and his partner Janet Bagby; his uncle Scott Dixon; as well as many great- uncles and aunts, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Barbara and James Dixon, and uncle Richard Dixon.
The family will celebrate Jeremy’s life during a private service.
