When Sam Niver learned his cancer was terminal, the last thing he wanted was to die in a hospital. Fiercely independent, he wanted to exit as he had lived  – on his own terms. In constant pain, with seemingly endless drugs and radiation, Sam did his research, made his plans, approved his obituary, and asked son Jay to chronicle the final days in his NC bay-front home.

This award-winning documentary is a moving tribute to a life lived well and ended with dignity.
