Obituary

Brittany Kaye Long, 37 years, passed away on February 28, 2024 due to birth complications, after the loss of her fifth child, Joy Magnolia.

Brittany was born on December 19th, 1986 in Richmond, VA to Phillip Leon Cifers and Darlene Renee Lowery. After Brittany graduated from Prince George Highschool in 2005, she married Joey Long and went on to study nursing at John Tyler Community College and later a bachelor’s degree at Grand Canyon University.

Brittany worked in many roles in the medical field but her heart was in hospice care. She was a compassionate and Godly woman who touched all that met her.  Her favorite place she worked was Carolina East Endoscopy department in New Bern, NC.

Brittany was always a joy in everyone’s life and always tried her hardest to make someone’s day. She loved the beach and went there as much as possible in the summer, and also loved the mountains and made sure to take an annual trip there with her family. Brittany always dreamed of being a bee-keeper and wanted to run her own florist shop. She loved flowers and had many around her house. Brittany was also an amazing singer, and even after many years she still knew her way on a piano.  Brittany also dove deep into the word of the God, and she loved praising and worshipping the Lord Jesus through singing, praying, and reading and studying the Bible.

Brittany is survived by her husband Joey, her four children Kylie, Isaac, Sophia, and Zachary, her father and mother Bobby and Darlene, and her two sisters Lindsay and Erica Harris. Brittany will be deeply missed.
