Obituary
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Jerry Dease Sr., who left this world on August 25, 2024, at the age of 64. Jerry was born on June 3, 1960, in Washington, District of Columbia, to his beloved mother, Laura G. Dease.
Known for his smart wit, and hilarious humor, Jerry was a beacon of light in any room he entered. He was quick to lend a helping hand and always stood up for himself, imparting the lesson to never let anyone walk over you. He was protective of his family and loved ones, proving him to be a steadfast rock in the storm.
Jerry’s love for food was no secret, with soul food being his ultimate favorite. His taste buds always appreciated a good barbeque, a testament to his favorite recreational activity being grilling. His interests also extended to music, with bass guitar holding a special place in his heart. His love for music and the instrument presented itself in many ways of his day-to-day life, from using his amazing audiophile skills setting up sound equipment at his community churches to playing his bass guitar with his band or at local events. He had a great love for dogs, Rottweilers and Pitbulls being his favorite. And we must not forget, as an ardent supporter of the Cowboys, Jerry would be seen cheering heartily for his favorite sports team.
Throughout his life, Jerry worked as a Certified Technician. He will be remembered for his hard work and dedication. His work ethic and commitment to excellence served as an inspiration to all who knew him. He excelled in his field and made many lasting contributions, where he not only built and remodeled homes, but also brightened the days of all those around him with his comedic genius. You could always find him cracking jokes with his colleagues. Jerry certainly had a knack for finding humor in the most unexpected places.
Jerry’s legacy is one of laughter and joy, an echo of the life he led. His infectious spirit and resilience will be dearly missed but never forgotten. He is survived by his older sisters Trudy and Paulette, and younger brother Dwayne Dease. He left behind his loving wife, Sandra Dease, and as a proud father, his daughters Jermicher, Racquel, and Candice Dease, and his son, Jerry Dease Jr. Jerry also had eight grandchildren, Rodney, Robert Jr, Ronald, Rakiyah, Kamiyah, Ryan, Riley, and Derick (DJ), who he loved sincerely without doubt, and a host of nieces and nephews. Jerry always kept his loved ones entertained with his jokes and stories. He had a passion for life and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
While Jerry may have left this world and will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him, we take comfort in knowing that his spirit and legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched. Rest in peace, Jerry Dease Sr.
